As I mentioned in last blog, our group took inspiration for one of my group mate Su’s idea of posture cushion.Our group target demographic is people who spend a long time sitting, such as students or office worker.
We found that sitting with a poor posture is harmful to both their health and mental. However, even if people know what a bad sitting posture looks like, it’s hard to change their habits quickly. Therefore, we started with the question of how might we help to reduce back pain and came up with a idea of manufacturing a back brace style device called Smart Remedy is lightweight and easy to use for correcting users’ posture. our group drew those prototypes and discussed which one more suitable and convenient for users.
Our idea is about making a back brace style device with a pocket in the back of the brace that fits a smartphone. We also intended to design a mobile phone app to remind the user’s posture condition with a vibrate function. We will continue to share our ideas and make more prototypes for deciding the final idea.
