At the beginning of this week class, Brett, the owner of Brettacorp Inc, came to visit our class and discussed many more details about Brettacorp Inc and its needs.

Brett shared the process of building a forest with us. And when one of my classmates asked him to prioritise his needs mentioned in the client brief, he said that the info package is the most important need for Brettacorp Inc to attract a direct, fast injection of funds to build more forests. I gained much valuable information through his talking during this class.

I researched about Miyawaki method after class. Based on Brettacorp Inc’s website, Miyawaki is a technique pioneered by Japanese botanist Akira Miyawaki, which helps build dense, native forests. The theoretical basis of the Miyawaki method is potential vegetation and succession theory and emphasises and advocates the use of native tree species to build native forests. The approach is supposed to ensure that plant growth is 10 times faster and the resulting plantation is 30 times denser than usual.

I learned a lot more about the Miyawaki method through this class and research. I am ready to work on the info package for the potential funders.
